More new hardware

Nothing's more fun than a new box. This afternoon I picked up a big blue switch at our local computer dealer. Mmmmm... hardware...

I think I’m the first person to respond to one of Parker’s BLOGS. I’m thrilled. I have no idea what a big blue switch is, but I can describe at length the oatmeal phase of a relationship. -nicole

Bolshoyeh spasebo for the comment, but Alison got first-comment bragging rights on the very first post.

A big blue switch is a heavy piece of network hardware which will make our office incrementally less network-congested. Most users will not notice the difference, but I will be able to extend a few other boxen past their sell-by date by relieving their strain.

I am not familiar with the oatmeal phase. Please expand.

D’oh! As soon as I typed my proclamation of being the first blogger responder, I saw Alison’s first response. Whoopsie.

THE OATMEAL PHASE:

It’s the first 3 months of a relationship with a new lover— it’s “You like OATMEAL? Oh my God, I like oatmeal!” It usually fades after about 90 days. My co-worker and her new boyfriend loved it so much they personalized their license plate OATMEL.
