Pincushion

I went in for my first acupuncture treatment today. (That’s first ever.) Contrary to some malicious rumors, I did not pop, nor have I been faintly hissing since the appointment.

The therapist was cautiously positive; he said their record with PF was about 40-50%, but I’d know which side of those odds I was on within about two weeks.

A tried acupuncture. What a waste of time. I don’t understand WHY you can’t get OVER this PF thing . It could be a deep-seated issue. Have you examined your psyche lately?? :o)

i think it’s so cool you’re not ruling out alternative medicine. who knows, maybe it will work for you? some of my friends and family have found success in acupuncture, some not. but it’s worth a try, especially if your insurance covers some of all of it.

I can’t believe I forgot to ask you about this. At least they didn’t tell you that you need 10 treatments before you can tell if it’s working - that’s what I was told the one time I went. I hope it works!

Julia: this is the kitchen sink approach. At this point, I can’t afford NOT to try ANYTHING.

And, I think without exception, everything anyone has suggested would help, someone else has suggested would be a waste of time. Everything.

N, unfortunately insurance isn’t covering any of it, and it will be expensive. In fact, I think my insurance won’t touch anything else on my PF to-try list. I don’t know how much they coughed up for my PT visits, but I spent about $400 on co-pays…

The official evaluation for effectiveness was, “You won’t know if it’s helping for three or four visits, but if you don’t know within ten visits, it isn’t.”
