Closure

The fifth department I applied to still hasn’t sent a response. Their website says, don’t pester us about your application before April 15.

The result is pretty much irrelevant; they’d have to offer the moon, at this point, to change my decision. So I don’t feel a lot of motivation to contact them and ask. But it’s irritating. I paid the application fee, so I’m entitled to some sort of response, right?

Yes. I did bail early, was staying out near the start. Ran the first 7 of the course before the race. Felt crappy for not encouraging the homeowners to get out the hoses. I think that might have made a difference for A & others.

Meantime, my compliments, better eyes than mine - I’m nearly blind, and even with glasses/contacts, eyesight, while OK is not great. You know the “couldn’t see the broad side of a barn” expression. Uncorrected, I can see the barn, but can’t tell it’s a barn. When the cow licks my face, I know I’m not at home.

Was at the expo in the Mark of Fitness booth, showing the new no-chestbelt heartrate monitor (more at www.markoffitness.com). Had the pleasure of showing it to Shorter & Jacquie Gareau, missed when Virgin and Rodgers stopped by. I think there may have been some buzz going on.
