Looking back

I made very few tweaks to the wish list site this fall, but somewhere along the line my quick hack to add an affiliate code to any Amazon links actually started working. (I’m mystified as to how it works now but didn’t before, but I won’t question it.) Between mid-November and the end of December, affiliate fees from the Wish List rung up around $35, which is pretty close to paying my hosting fees for the past three Decembers. That’s pretty cool.

I’d particularly like to thank someone who put a massively expensive medical textbook on their Christmas list. (Unless there are other med students using this that I don’t know about…)

Actually, there are other medical professionals currently finishing their training on The List. I think the book that funded you was a Radiology textbook given to my sister-in-law rather than a gift for A.

Maybe next year we can get you kick backs from some volumes of the ever-so-pricey Interpreter’s Bible, too.

It was my wife’s radiology text. Thanks for putting together and updating the idealist again this year.

I think idealist is an excellent idea and would make a great commercial site (with advertising revenue driving the business model.)

I don’t know what else you are thinking of doing but I’d be happy to help stump for idealist web company financiers if you were to go that route.
